The Version Control support in CRI Atom Craft makes it possible to use a file versioning system such as Subversion etc. to keep track of the project files.
CRI Atom Craft manages materials, work units, etc. as individual files.
It is usually recommended to divide the projects in work units, each corresponding to a sound designer, or location in the game etc.
By using version control, it becomes easy to confirm file modifications or restore an older version of a file.
Generally, the clients of the version control systems are required to manage file versions.
By using a version control plug-in in CRI Atom Craft, it is possible to manage file versions automatically without leaving the authoring tool (i.e. no need to switch to the client tool to commit new files etc.)
For example, when you register a new material, its state is automatically switched to "add".
The context menu from the material folder offers a command to send items with the "add" state to the repository.
CRI Atom Craft V3 interfaces with Subversion and Perforce.
