Selecting a Track based on the localized Language

Assigning a Language to the Tracks

You can make a Track language-dependent by editing the [Language Name] of the Track.

Stored by language in the ACB files

The Track depending on a language is included in the ACB File only if this parameter matches the language selected when building the binary.

Use it when a single waveform replacement is not convenient

Making a Track language-dependent is useful to support localization when the simple replacement of the waveform is not sufficient.

Item Description
Example 1. Timing playback is different between languages -> Prepare Tracks for each language.
Example 2. No playback needed in a given language -> Enable only other languages.
Example 3. Play additional sounds in some languages -> Add Tracks and set the Language Name.
Example 4. The number of random Tracks varies between languages (e.g. main language has many variations) -> Enable only the Tracks which are actually needed.
Note
For basic multilingual support, refer to Switching Materials by Localization Language

Material switching can automatically assign languages according to the data management structure (folder structure and naming convention), which is easier to manage.
On the other hand, Selecting a Track based on the localized Language needs to be set for each Cue, which makes management complicated.

Therefore, the following usage is recommended.
